Unboxing and installing Drainbee
In 86 seconds: what's in the box, how the box, probe and power supply fit together, and how the app alerts you when the water rises.
Transcript
Let's unbox Drainbee.
Right on top: the box itself – and a quick-start guide. The QR code walks you through the setup, step by step.
The box is the heart of the system. It goes on the wall, connects to your Wi-Fi and keeps an eye on the water level, around the clock.
Underneath, two sockets: one for the power supply, one for the probe.
You screw the wall mount on once – the box simply clicks into place. Screws and wall plugs are included.
Then the power supply. Plug it in, done – no electrician needed.
And this is the probe, on five metres of cable. It hangs in the sump and measures the level to the centimetre.
No moving parts – nothing to rust solid.
The plug goes into the box. Then use the cable ties to secure the cable.
In the app, you can see your water level, your pump cycles and the history at any time.
And most importantly: if the water rises above your alarm threshold, Drainbee raises the alarm. Your iPhone gets a phone call and a critical alert, your Android phone an alarm, just like an alarm clock – and both ring even in silent mode.
If the power or the Wi-Fi goes down, the app lets you know automatically.
Unboxed, mounted – and you can sleep soundly again.
